The Venezuelan government, through an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has issued a firm condemnation of Israel’s recent military strikes against Iranian territory, which resulted in more than 220 deaths and over 1,800 injuries. The statement denounced the attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities as a serious violation of international law and a threat to regional and global stability.

In the official communiqué, Foreign Minister Yván Gil expressed Venezuela’s full support for the Islamic Republic of Iran in its defense of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of its people. Caracas emphasized that Iran’s response to Israeli aggression is a legitimate exercise of its rights under international law and the United Nations Charter.

“Venezuela fully supports the actions taken by Iran in defense of its sovereignty and calls on the international community to respect the principles of non-aggression and peaceful coexistence,” the statement affirmed.

The Venezuelan government condemned the Israeli attacks on nuclear facilities protected by international safeguards, describing them as unjustified acts of war that flagrantly violate the United Nations Charter. The official document warned that such aggression threatens the fragile stability of West Asia and sets a dangerous precedent that could lead to catastrophic consequences worldwide.

“The bombing of strategic sites under international protection poses a real threat to regional peace and risks triggering a global catastrophe,” the communiqué stated.

Venezuela urged the international community to act with urgency and unity to curb reckless threats and prevent further escalation. The government reaffirmed its commitment to multilateralism and peaceful negotiation as the only viable path to lasting peace in the Middle East and beyond.

The Venezuelan government echoed the condemnations issued by China and Russia, who characterized the Israeli attacks against Iran as blatant violations of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The Venezuelan declaration primarily emphasizes its unconditional support for Iran’s sovereignty and legitimate defense against Israeli aggression, calling on the international community to act with unity and determination to halt the military escalation, protect peace, and restore international legality.

Israel justified its strikes on June 13 by alleging that Iran was nearing a “point of no return” in developing nuclear weapons,a claim repeatedly made without presenting conclusive evidence.

Iran categorically denies any military intent in its nuclear program. Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), confirmed that inspections have found no proof of nuclear weapons development in Tehran. The Iranian Ministry of Health reports over 220 deaths and more than 1,800 injuries as a result of the bombings, underscoring the devastating humanitarian impact of Israel’s aggression
